Our Team Philosophy

As it relates to our role as coaches and mentors during competitive team play at the club level, our philosophy is first and foremost, everyone must be treated with respect. Regardless of skill level. Period. Secondly, we prioritize and train to optimize team play. Share the ball on offense, and stay connected as a group on defense. focus on the next play.

Our goal is to help define a child’s role that contributes to the group. So kids have a concept of what the team is asking of them during games. It’s our job to provide a road map towards these roles through individual skill building and teaching the game.

We also put a premium on working with kids on handling emotions, the refs, the crowd noise, and more. Those elements are always part of the equation of competitive club-level play, so we place the same level of importance on them as any ball skills shown.

In this regard I reach back to my time as a Division 1 Big East player and Pro athlete to make sure that our kids are informed as to how to treat live competition with the focus required to excel. And how to avoid falling victim to outside noise and distractions. Knowing that this skill set is often the difference maker for optimizing team and individual success.
